Menu Commands - Return to top.
The Inside NGS web version of the NGS Style Manual is designed to be used with a web browser. Use browser menu commands or icons to Edit=>Select All or Copy, File=>Page Setup or Print, or for other browser menu actions. Use the pointing device to select portions of items before copying or printing.

File=>Print
Prints the item that is currently displayed. In this manual, each entry, consisting of title and text, is referred to as an item. One item displays per page, although lengthy items may require two or more pages. Summary documents, which list all items for one letter, are also available for viewing or printing as though they were a single item. You can print one item per page(s) or all items under one letter. Although possible, printing the entire manual is time consuming. See Appendix B for more information.

File=>Page Setup (PC and Mac)
Set page options before printing. For the PC, choose header and footer options to display the page title and page location / URL at the top of the page, and page number, count, and date at the bottom. For the Mac, choose Page, Date, Location, Title, or None for the header and/or footer in the left, middle, or right positions.

File=>Print Setup (PC) or File=>Print (Mac)
File=>Print Setup (PC) sets printer options before printing an item. You can select a printer and set or change options for the printer. The options available depend on the type of printer selected. These options are available via the print dialog box on the Mac.

Edit=>Copy
Copies the text of the current item to the Windows Clipboard. A portion of the current item must be selected before the menu entry is enabled. Use Edit=>Select All to select the entire text portion of the item. Text copied to the clipboard can be pasted into another application or document. To copy graphics, right click (PC) or click and hold (Mac) while pointing to a graphic and choose "Save Image As" to save it to disk. Then import the saved graphic into the application or document. Please note that graphics are sometimes used to represent text, if that text cannot be displayed correctly on all platforms. See Appendix B for more information.
